This poster is inspired by Saul Bass famous quote, "Art is not what you see, but what others see." The central theme of perception is creatively illustrated using quotation marks as symbolic eyes, representing the idea that art is about how it is viewed by others. Inside these quotation marks "eyes," I placed a smaller, white version of the quote in the corners, functioning like pupils, symbolizing the individual perspective each person brings when observing art.
The curved text around the eyes mimics the shape of goggles or glasses, emphasizing that everyone sees the world through their own lens. This design choice reinforces the message that art is a reflection of diverse viewpoints. The overall aesthetic creates an engaging visual metaphor for how the act of seeing is a subjective experience, perfectly aligned with Degas' philosophy on art and perception.
